What connections are available
Our API and channel manager, ResConnect, enables electronic connections to different platforms. Choosing which connections will work best for you depends on your sales strategy.
Specialist agents
Specialist agents like Expert Africa, Bushtracks Expeditions, Go2Africa, African Eagle and Wilderness Safaris have developed a direct system to system connection to ResRequest using ResConnect. As agents recognise the power in this connection, more and more have signed up to ResConnect to make it possible to sell Africa’s finest properties using their business tools.
Tour operating systems
Tour operating systems give hundreds of agents access to view and book properties. However, this is only possible if they have been granted permission to do so. ResRequest currently has a connection to Tourplan and Wetu. There are other software integrations are in a development pipeline.
Channel managers and Online travel agents (OTAs)
We have connections to Channel Managers and OTAs which enable you to distribute your availability and sell your stock on numerous online booking platforms. ResRequest has a direct connection to Channel Managers such as SynXis, Nightsbridge, Siteminder, and Profitroom, as well as direct connections to OTAs such as Expedia, with more to follow.

Direct bookings
You can take direct bookings via your website by using our booking plugin, ResNova, or creating your own using our API. This can be customised to fit into the branding of your website. See the ResNova module to find out more.
Set up process
- The first step depending on your connection
- Specialist agents
Generally the connection to your property is initiated by the tour operator / agent that has developed a connection between their booking system and ResRequest. Alternatively, as a ResRequest user you may approach an agent and request setting up a connection to their system. - Tour operating systems
Generally, agents using tour operating systems will request to make bookings. Please bear this in mind when considering granting them access to your availability. We encourage the creation of confirmed bookings however this booking relationship will need to be managed case by case. - Online Travel Agents and Channel Managers
First, you must decide which OTAs you wish to be present on and then choose an appropriate Channel Manager to use to distribute your availability online. Sign up with this Channel Manager and OTA directly.

- Set up a user contact
Once the agreement is confirmed between yourself and the agent / channel manager, a user contact is setup in ResRequest – this may be done by yourself or our support centre. All user access permissions such as availability and module access restrictions are defined by you in ResRequest. - Connect the systems
Once this user is set up, our support centre will connect your user record to the respective agent’s account on our backend so that they can connect to specific rates, availability and even make bookings. Our connections team are here to help with the facilitation of any of these set up areas. ResRequest encourages the booking of confirmed reservations however each relationship will need to be managed on a case by case basis.
