The Accountant’s Process
ResRequest enables you to define accounting rules, distribute the processing of financial transactions to people in different geographic locations and automatically consolidate transaction data for reporting and posting purposes.
The key to achieving accurate financial information and minimising the time spent on clerical data entry tasks is to set up the system rules correctly. This includes the specification of
- company details,
- tax rules,
- rules for distributing revenue to various accounts,
- customer terms,
- pricing,
- parameters for handling multiple currencies.
With these system rules in place, the reservations and lodge front office staff are relieved of the responsibility of having to work out pricing details. You can confidently produce official Tax Invoices that are accurately priced and comply with statutory requirements. Receipts automatically update customer accounts and statements can be emailed directly from the system.
Liabilities for statutory charges, such as VAT, Park Fees, and various levies are automatically calculated. Similarly, the system keeps track of deposits received for reservations that have yet to travel.
ResRequest is designed as a sales system and thus offers far greater scope and flexibility for sales reporting than can be achieved within a General Ledger system. For pure accounting purposes, sales information can be posted electronically to selected GL systems at invoice level. Alternatively, you can report on summarised values per account code for manual journal posting into any accounting system.
