Interpreting your Rates

Knowing how your Rates are constructed will play a big role in how you will go about setting up the Rates in ResRequest. You will need to spend some time interpreting your Rates and understanding their different components. Use the table of questions below to help you:

1. How is the Rate amount constructed? 2. What other charges make up the Rates? 3. Are any of the Rate components commissionable? 4. Must any of the Rate components to be set to display separately on the invoice? 5. Do any of the Rate components have their own tax? 6. If any of the Rate components have charges attached, are the charges the same for a child as for an adult? 7. Can the lodge rooms be configured differently?	Rate Components	1. E.g. Accomodation ($300) + Breakfast ($30) + Game drive ($220 = Rate ($550) + Tourism Development Levy ($1.5) + conservation fee (Adult = $59) = Booking total per Adult ($610.5) 2. E.g. Park fees (Adult = $80 Child = $45), Laundry fee (PPPN $5), Villa properties/accommodation may have a Villa Supplement component 7. E.g. Twin, Double, Triple or Quad? Bed configuration components can be set up so the reservationist can apply the correct configuration for the room at the time of booking.
Do you have a child policy and how is it structured?	Child policy	E.g. Child 0-2 has free lodging. Child 3-15 pays 50% of the per person sharing amount plus the child Conservation fee. Child 16-17 pays 50% of the per person sharing amount plus the adult Conservation fee.
What Specials apply? When do Specials apply and does the Special season match the Rate type seasons? Will they be set up as Rates Specials or as part of the Rate? Which Rates do the Specials apply for?	Specials	E.g. Stay 4 pay 3 outside of Peak season for Rack rates only. Honeymoon Special: Bride pays 50% of the Adult rate between 15 Jan – 15 Dec for the Rack and STO rate.
Do you have other rates that may require a different set up?
