WARNING
Changes to the business structure can have huge implications in your ResRequest system so changes should only be made by your system administrator or with the consultation of the Support team.
The business structure is like the control room at NASA, it’s the most important module in ResRequest where you structure and manage all property and accommodation information. It should be managed by system administrators but is used by everyone in your business. The business structure needs to be set up before you start using the system as it lays down the foundation and structure for how your system will function.
The Business structure is where you:
Your ResRequest system can contain any number of companies (known as Invoicing Units), which can contain any number of properties, which can contain any number of accommodation types, which can contain any number of rooms. Attributes, e.g. sea-facing, may then be linked to individual rooms.
When a reservation spans multiple companies, the system automatically splits the reservation charges into folios per company to make your accounting easier. Even though the Reservation summary document presents a consolidated view of the booking, for each folio a separate proforma / invoice is presented. Financial transactions are automatically grouped per company for export to the accounting systems of the respective companies.
New records may be added at any level of the structure, e.g. a new property or a new room.
Records may be deleted, subject to validation checks. If you delete a record that is linked to reservations, the record is retained on the database for reporting purposes but becomes unavailable for future use.
Changes to the business structure can have huge implications in your ResRequest system so changes should only be made by your system administrator or with the consultation of the Support team.
